Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator to join their IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, and optimization of the SAP environment. This role requires a strong technical background in SAP Basis as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (ERP, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, etc.).
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and kernel updates.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure high availability and stability.
• Manage SAP transports, database administration, and user access management.
• Troubleshoot SAP system issues and provide root cause analysis.
• Ensure SAP environment security, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Collaborate with functional teams, developers, and business stakeholders to support ongoing projects.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience as an SAP Basis Administrator.
• Experience with SAP HANA, Oracle, or MS SQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of SAP landscape architecture and system refreshes.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Contract Type & Budget

• Full-time contract via GigWay (hybrid/remote depending on client).
• Duration: 6–12 months, with the possibility of extension.
• Budget: R450 – R700 per hour (market-related, depending on experience and certifications).
